About The Daily Tale

Why?

The Daily Tale was conceived as a way that busy people can easily download a new short story from a variety of authors every day for free; especially commuters and travellers who are likely to have their iPod or Blackberry at hand but find carrying a book just that bit too much! To help with this there are notes for how to download to various toys

Developments

As the site develops we'll be adding more automated features whereby you can request Daily Tales to be automatically sent in the format of your choice. We'll also add more functionality enabling the reader to choose what he/she reads about and, by whom!

What will make it work?

The key to the success of the site will be the willingness of writers to send in their work and of the reading public to read it. So, if you're already a writer and want to join a revolution in publishing - the readers decide what is good and the public aren't 'sold' to by the publishers - send in your stories! As important for the success of the site are the Feedback and voting sections for every story. Make sure you tell the author if you like the story (don't be too mean if you don't - they're sensitive creatures!).

Money

Yes, people are sceptical about what a new site might be after - be rest assured that no personal information will ever be shared with (sold) to a third party. The site will carry advertising because this will pay for the hosting and bandwidth required. Authors will not pay to appear on the site neither will be paid.

The site has been built and managed by people who want to read and people who want to write short stories!
